The Tech

The Archive Team

The Tech archive project was founded in 1992 to build an on-line library of stories from The Tech, primarily for use by reporters at The Tech. Our initial work, sponsored by Apple Computer, was focused on building a WAIS index of current stories. We got excited about the World-Wide Web in early 1993 and began building the service that exists today. The Tech's Web server debuted in May, 1993, making it one of the first 100 web sites on the Internet.

We are always looking for new people to help with the archive project. If you're a member of the MIT community, drop us a line and we'll tell you more about what we are doing and how you can help.
