Flavio, our guide, could be the Brazilian ideal. Part-time tour guide, part-time crew on a fishing boat, Flavio spent most of his time on our tour either repeating oddly complicated itinerary instructions in either Portuguese or Spanish, or just taking in the sun. But he also found time to wave and greet every beautiful Brazilian woman along our hiking path. We had no objections.
