The bulk of the vacation took place on the island of Bohol, which,
tragically, was devastated by a huge earthquake just a couple weeks
after our visit. The churches of the Philippines, many built out of
coral, have historical markers that describe their frequent
destruction by fire, flooding and earthquakes.
We visited the chocolate hills and the tarsier monkey sanctuary on
Bohol.
