 Domabahce Palace Erica and I toured the fabulous Dolmabahce Palace, built in the early 1800's when the reforming Ottoman sultan Abdul Mejid wanted a palace in the European style. It is filled with soaring state rooms, crystal chandeliers, and artwork depicting 1800's Ottoman military victories (notwithstanding the decline experienced by the Ottomans in that century). |
