 At the Walls of Theodosius We had a hair-raising climb to the top of the Walls of Theodosius. Though the walls were maintained through mid-Ottoman times, they are badly decayed today, and this section was rebuilt. The Turks captured Constantinople in 1453 by first seizing a section of wall in the northern area where we were exploring. |
