The second night in Siem Reap I sampled the nightlife: the place has gone from nothing to Cancun in just about 7 years, and construction is continuing. Sitting at the Red Piano, pictured above, I looked out at Touch across the street, Buddha Bar across the street, The Balcony on the corner, and an Irish Pub on the other corner. It's a little frightening to see how quickly the tourist economy can move, but every country deserves to cash in on this trade I suppose. There are still no luxury high-rises, though some of the brand-new resort-style hotels are close.
