 Changchun's center is dotted with buildings dating from the 1920s and 1930s, many built for Japanese officials, or government branches of the puppet state of Manchukuo. This building, which happened to be right in front of my hotel, was the residence of a senior Japanese officer in charge of overseeing the puppet state. [Next]
