 Bratislava, Slovakia, is not exactly Europe's most famous capital city. I arrived by train at a station a couple miles south of the city center and had to walk in freezing cold through block after block of Communist-era housing and then across one of the ugliest bridges I've ever seen. Alas, Bratislava castle was wrapped in scaffolding and closed, and even the view from the hill was hazed in. |
