How much of a continent can you cover in 17 days? As the smallest continent, and a country of only 22 million people, Australia is perhaps the easiest continent to tour in a relatively short amount of time. My own main motivation was to fulfill a dream of seeing the southern hemisphere stars from the Outback. In August, the rich star lanes of the Milky Way's heart are directly overhead in Australia's evening sky. Of course, there's also a continent to see.
