A view from the citadelle

The best view in Quebec City is from the top of the citadelle looking down-river towards the point. The most famous building in town is the Chateau Frontenac, the grand hotel with the sloping copper roof overlooking the river. It was built by the Canadian Pacific railway in 1893, with the tower added in 1925. Churchill and Franklin Roosevelt spent much time there during the two Quebec conferences held to discuss war planning during World War II.
